Consultation Policy

To best service clients, all consultations will be scheduled either in person or over the phone. At the beginning of each service there will be a 3-5 minute consultation to ensure we are on the same page for your maintenance service goals and to recap anything that has happened regarding your hair since the last appointment. If we are going a new direction with your hair, please send inspiration photos of your goals via Instagram dm or email. I'll then be able to decide if these looks are something we need to discuss over the phone or I'll give directions for how to book.

Existing clients:

Existing clients or those who have worked with me at some point are offered the option of either scheduling in person or phone consultation. I welcome hair inspiration photos at any time via  and would love to know what you're excited about; however, in order to provide the best service possible, longer dialogues and questions regarding your hair goals will be scheduled conversations. Test strand may be required. 

New clients:

While I have several first service packages available on my New Guests page, my most recommended option is Consult Only. Consult Only is an in salon 30 minute consultation where we just get a vibe for each other and learn details before we set anything up! We discuss hair goals, your hair history, my professional opinion of what is possible and what will work well for you in addition to prices, maintenance and policies. 

Whatever route you choose though, I am super excited and can't wait to meet you.

Deposits and Cancellation Policy 

Deposits: 
When scheduling color services requiring longer than 2 hours of my time, there will be a non-refundable $100 booking deposit made to reserve your appointment and that amount will go toward your final service balance. That amount may also go up if the service(s) require a significant portion of my day.
 
If needing to reschedule, any deposits made will transfer as long as you reschedule with a minimum of 48 hours notice from the time of your appointment. 

Cancellations: 
If needing to cancel or reschedule your appointment, a minimum of 48 hours notice is required to avoid any cancellation penalties. 
 
Rescheduling, cancelling your appointment within 48 hours, failure to show for your appointment, or arriving late to the point where I need to terminate your appointment are all considered last minute cancellations. Any last minute cancellations will result in losing any existing deposits made and will require submitting an additional deposit prior to scheduling your next service. Last minute cancellations for services without a deposit will result in a penalty fee in the amount of 50% of the missed service(s) and will be due prior to scheduling any future appointments. If last minute cancellations continue or occur during your first service with me, including consultation, I do reserve the right to refuse future services all together. 

Late Policy 

I understand sometimes things happen and allow a grace period of arriving up to 10 minutes late for your appointment. However, if arriving more than 10 minutes past your appointment time, a late fee in the amount of $25 will be added to your service charges. Arriving late to the point where I need to cancel any existing services is considered a last minute cancellation and penalty details specified in the Cancellation Policy may apply. Excessive continuation of arriving late may result in my refusing future services all together. 

Redo and Retail Return Policy 

Redo: 
I strive to offer my guests the highest level of guest satisfaction. If you are having challenges with your cut or color, please let me know via email at shearharmonyhair@gmail.com within 7 days of your visit and I am happy to correct the issue. During your redo appointment, we will specifically target the area of your concern in order to provide what was originally agreed upon during our consultation. If what you want to address is something different than what was originally agreed upon during our consultation, it is considered a second service and not a redo since the original requested service was rendered. 
 
Retail Return:
Should you make a retail purchase that you are unsatisfied with, our salon will allow a return within 60 days of your purchase, assuming there is at least a 3/4 majority amount of remaining product.

What are your prices?

Prices for my services can be found on my service page by clicking the link below. Please keep in mind that the prices given are the base rate and may go up depending on the extensity of what your desired outcome requires. Deposits are required for booking certain time consuming services including babylight and balayage appointments and will go towards the balance of your service total as long as it does not conflict with my cancellation policy. How do I make an appointment?

Existing clients:
All appointments are now conveniently self-managed through your app where you can easily book, cancel, reschedule, or even look up an existing appointment. If you are changing up your look and are unsure of which service to book, please fill out the Change It Up Form on your app.

How much time should I plan for my service?

Do you offer bridal services?

Bridal services are offered to existing clients. However, due to Covid there have been some alterations to my bridal services. While in salon bridal services are available, on site traveling is temporarily not offered and wedding day services are limited to no more than three people in the party, bride included. Why is hair pricing so confusing?

Many times hair service pricing can feel like going to a car mechanic. You know you're paying for services and getting something out of it, but when it comes to specifics on what costs what, it can feel like a blur. In short, the cost of your hair services are dependent upon your hair's current state, which services you receive and also what it will take for you to get to your goals. The good news is, when you see me for a consultation, I break down all of my pricing in advance so we avoid any confusion or sticker shock in the end.

Can I get on your Waitlist?

Absolutely! Get priority status and be directly contacted if something becomes available. Is your schedule really tight and you need me to expand my availability to accommodate your hair needs? I got you! I also offer extended availability during my off hours at a premium rate. If either getting on my Cancellation List or utilizing my extended availability interests you, click the link provided to fill out my form and you'll be personally notified if something comes available.

I proudly carry Wella's color line, primarily using their Kolesten Perfect, Color Touch, Relights, Special Mix, and Shinefinity lines

Covid Safety Precautions 

Currently, PR at Partners in Old Town is requiring everyone wearing a mask at all times. We are not serving beverages at this time. You are however welcome to bring your own drink with a lid and drink in between masking.


If you contract or are exposed to Covid, out of respect for everyone, please contact the salon receptionist as soon as you're able, and postpone any upcoming hair appointments.

What products does your salon carry?

My salon proudly carries the full line for R&Co hair care merchandise.  It goes without saying that I absolute love the way their products work, both for myself, my family, and my clients. Additionally, I fervently appreciate that R&Co is a vegan, gluten-free, and eco conscious line. 
 
While I will always recommend products I feel is best for your hair, I do appreciate your support in purchasing retail from me if it is an item I carry. A percentage of that merchandise does go directly towards funding for my choice of educational hair classes. As a hairstylist who advocates for high quality product choices, takes product knowledge classes multiple times each year,  and always does their best to coach you towards which products are needed for your hair's current state, I appreciate your support.
